The vet saw no evidence of pathology on the films, yet the OFA prelim
report stated that there was some subluxation in one hip and slight
dysplasia in one elbow. No other abnormalities seen and the dog's
gait is good. Clean coming and going.
Now we're not sure how to proceed. The dog has no guarantee from the
breeder as he is a re-sale. Would you guys take a chance on this dog
and go ahead with the purchase? Thanks in advance for your help.

If there is any (even the slightest!) wear and tear w/ an elbow today, OFA
will send it back DJD1. You could try the OVC, or you could figure it'll
never bother him if it doesn't now and decide to live with it.
When OFA said "slight" sublixation, did they not pass his hips? If the
answer is "no", you could have a position problem w/ the x-rays. I might re-do
the
x-rays and resubmit.
To purchase or not? That depends on your goals. If your goal is to show
and have fun and he's obviously sound physically and a good
representative...enjoy! If you want him as a foundation for a breeding
program, I think you'd
want hip numbers at a minimum; an awful lot of people today, myself included,
will use a DJD1.
