Recently, we made an offer to purchase a very fine one year old male, if his prelims were clean. The vet who did the films is very experienced and came highly recommended. (He is also a large animal vet, who specialized in orthopedic problems in show horses for many years.) The vet saw no evidence of pathology on the films, yet the OFA prelim report stated that there was some subluxation in one hip and slight dysplasia in one elbow. No other abnormalities seen and the dog's gait is good. Clean coming and going. Now we're not sure how to proceed. The dog has no guarantee from the breeder as he is a re-sale. Would you guys take a chance on this dog and go ahead with the purchase? Thanks in advance for your help.
