Before I went on the board, I talked to Joan Fox about if it was an
advantage to sit on the board with all those judges. She told me we argued so
much, after being on the board it became difficult to show under any of them.
What I discovered is that if a judge will hold against your dog, what you
and that judge discussed or argued about, then you should not enter under
that person anyway. I too show under a lot of judges who have not agreed
with me. I find most of the specialty judges to be fair and honest.
I remember after Kathy Steen put Kierk first in the Group, I went up to
her and thanked her. She quite directly told me, "I didn't go anything for
you, your dog earned that." I tried not to laugh, but I agreed with her. I
was just trying to be polite. And, I would always show under Kathy, any
time.
No more Mr. Nice guy.
