We need to be careful about changing rules. No change will stop every
undesirable person. We must give the board the power to use a certain
discrimation.
My husband is a tax accountant. He spends his days looking for ways around
untold numbers of rules for his very large real estate buying and selling
company. He usually does find ways around paying taxes in the millions of
dollars for his company.
If there is a rule there is a way around it. We need to give the board the
power to use common sense and let it decide if an applicant has the best
interests of the breed and the club in mind.
If the board had had that power with regards to Hunte, he would not be a
member. Our board would have felt safe turning down his application. The
potential suite would not have been worth Hunte's time and this issue would be
over.
WE CANNOT MAKE SO MANY RULES THAT WE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THEM OR THAT THEY
FORCE OUT PEOPLE WHO ARE ON THE BORDER WITH SUCH RULES.
And!!!!! Making lines in the sand will only cause people to challenge where
the line is.
