[ SHOWGSD-L ] Pity

I had my own pity party last week! Last Tuesday ( a week ago) I had my
TONSILS OUT.
Are there other adults on this planet who actually still have their tonsils?
All my friends, sisters, cousins had theirs out when we were kids. They got
to stay home for three days, eat ice cream and be catered to hand and foot
by Mom. Then, after 3 days, they happily trotted back to school free of
nasty tonsils.
Not poor Cyndy.
Nope. I got to keep mine.
Flash forward thirty something years... (shut up Ileana!)
When you are an adult, the surgery is very painful, recovery takes TWO
WEEKS, they tell you not to eat ice cream because it makes you salivate or
something, which means more swallowing.
Great pain meds - but cannot work on those - can't eat food without them...
Two weeks of this - I am 7 lbs lighter, and ready to kill someone...
Back to my little party...
