It's not Pits DO, it's Pits CAN. Pits have, and so have Cane Corsos, Dobermans, SHEPHERDS, Rottweilers, there's even been a story about a child that has been maimed by, *gasp* a pack of YORKIES! I really get sick of people trying to put the kabosh on a whole breed because of stories blown out of proportion, or based on accounts that just AREN'T TRUE. Heck, on the freaking People's Court, Harvey stated that "Pit Bulls have a special enzyme that make them more dangerous!" It's a bunch of bunk! Rufus the Bull Terrier, the Euk BIS winner (or was it Westminster? He's had so many I can't keep up), is banned, as are other Bull Terriers and Bully breeds, in the province of canada the judge hailed from! Disgusting! Rufus is a great dog, and a great ambassador for all bully breeds! Pits were used in wars as messengers, because they were quick, agile, and tenacious! I've met many a great Pit, and those that end up in the headlines? It's because of stupid owners, poor raising, and even WORSE breeders. The only fair and effective thing to do is make AC get OFF their backsides and ENFORCE leash laws etc etc. Not ban a whole breed. It just leads to more breed banning. I love Pits, Staffordshires, Am Staffs, Bull Terriers, Mini Bull Terriers...they're all great, just like GSDs, until they get into the wrong hands. Blame the deed not the breed...and anybody who can't repeat that mantra, especially in regards to BSL when OUR breed is a target breed as well...it worries me, and even makes me a bit ill.
