I whelped a litter for someone about 12 years ago and the pup I kept went
down and never cane up. A litter mate was also down on one. Pastern.
It broke my heart to give her to someone who really wanted her as she had
flaws. So did the new owner. She ( Abby) was diagnosed a few years later
with perianal fistulas. She was put down.
I ended up reading an article that linked so many of our problems to immune
problems. I don't remember the article.
The boy I have now has a lot of skin tags. ( OK not too many but some )I
kept picking them thinking they were ticks. That is probably genetic too
but I can handle skin tags ...........
