When Sharon was Corresponding Secretary, (the board approved it) she gave
a blanket 4 year approval to all regional clubs, then when clubs didn't pay
their dues, they could still hold shows with out parent club approval. I
discovered that an AKC judge who is a member of the GSDCA was telling other
clubs that they could hold their shows and not pay parent club dues. When
I discovered that, I pulled the rug out from under the blanket approval.
We had clubs that were holding shows that had not paid dues for 2 to 3
years. That is why. I am working on a better plan for the clubs this year,
but I won't let it get out of hand again.

It used to be that we had "Blanket approval" given to the AKC for all
regional clubs and then the club dues started to be unpaid and they had
already
gotten approval and the dues were not paid so the process changed -- she
can tell you what the process is.

Our regional club's show applications are stuck in a "pending" status
until AKC gets a PCA (Parent Club Approval). As far as I know, in the
past we have not done anything in particular to get a PCA. I'm trying
to figure out who to contact in the Parent Club to make sure things are
all hunky dory. If anyone out there has got insider knowledge in this
area, could you please email me? It'd be great if we could get our
(late April/early May) shows approved ASAP so we can start to advertise
them.
