[ SHOWGSD-L ] Parent Club Question

I was recently talking to one of my Rottie friends and he was surprised to
learn that our Parent Club does not control when Specialty shows are held.
Apparently their Parent club takes great pains in making sure that Specialty
shows are not held on the same weekend to ensure the maximum amount of entries
for that club. I believe other parent clubs do this as well.
Why is the GSDCA so hands off when it comes to having a say when Specialty
shows are held? If regional clubs were respectful of other shows weekends
that would be one thing, but since that isn't the case, it would seem to me
that it is in the best interest of all clubs, if the Parent Club would have to
approve changes in show weekends.
Just wondering.

PS - I assume the Futurities have some impact on clubs changing show dates.
