Work at the Baker Institute has shown that the incubation period in dogs is
longer than previously believed. Lameness in dogs occurs two to five MONTHS
after tick exposure.

I did not know lyme was symptomatic so soon. I thought it took a few  weeks
or months before the dogs  became symptomatic.
