In the 60s I worked in NYC at a business, and we got two mail deliveries a day
Then the PO started to deliver once a day
There is no reason for mail to be delivered after 5pm, except to get overtime
In the country, they have partially closed many Post offices. The two nearest
to me are open different hours and manned by the same personel -
one is open mornings. Then they get a two hour closed and the other opens for
the afternoon. Neither are open on Saturdays.
Our posts are open from 7 am -noon and 2-4pm, depending on your post office of
choice. The post office boxes are available from 7am - 4pm
weekdays.
Now outside the countryside, Many pos offices have their post office boxes
ALWAYS AVAILABLE
The price of mail is going up in January, so get your forever stamps now
Our postal service is the most inexpensive in the world - we are spoiled. The
post office has closed 40% of its sorting stations to save money
