Of course doctors and vets do make the wrong calls some times. They are only
human. For example: my dog created a bit of a sensitive stomach so my vet
gave me Reglan (Metoclopramide) to give him either morning, evening or both
with his meals. I chose to give him one or two Reglan's with his evening
meals. But for at least 1.5 years he would wake me up between 11:00pm and
1:00am to tell me he didn't feel good. Why! I would ask my vet why only at
those hours of the day he would do that. The vet gave me all sorts of
excuses that totally didn't make any sense & of course I disagreed which was
frustrating. So after about 1.5 years of this I'm in the kitchen getting
ready to feed my two GSDs when not realizing my girl was standing where my
boy usually stands -- I was in a bit of a hurry that evening & gave my girl
the Reglan with a piece of cheese by mistake. So, I thought that will not
hurt, got another Reglan & gave it to my boy. In a few minutes my girl went
out the doggy door & threw up??? WHAT?! Then my boy as usual woke me up
again early morning telling me he was uncomfortable for some reason. I
started to think about this med with my girl throwing it up & decided to
totally wean him off of it. It has been 2 months without me giving him
Reglan & my dog is feeling perfectly fine. We are all sleeping all night
long with no issues. So...................I write my vet to let her know
what has happened. Her reply: The next time your girl throws up you better
bring her in for a checkup! {{{{GROWL!}}} Kathy Partch www.JoKaySedona.com
