[ SHOWGSD-L ] Our First Dogs

My first dog was a minature schnauzer/beagle mix who looked like a schnauzer 
and had to be 
groomed as one - the beagle in her bayed at the moon.  Our Schneigel was named 
Socrates.

My next dog was a German Shorthaired pointer that I rescued.  He was named Mr 
Spock

Then I bought my first purebred - a WEimaraner (Wiggles) - a brother to Ch 
Lady's Ballerina in 
1970. Mr Wiggles turned out to be a seizure alert dog.  He would sit at my 
daughter's bedside 
and alert me to her status seizures. No training, he just did that. 

I put a CD on him.  My best friend showed Danes and my daughter grew up around 
Danes and 
Weims. 

My first shepherd was a show dog in 1985 and you can't have just ONE.
