I disagree. An obedience dog is usually with their owner, the person they love
and live with. A show dog is not usually with their owner, but a handler, and
therefore are looking for them. I guess that wouldn't be the case with owners
that send their dogs away with handlers and the dogs don't know their real
owners anyway. Ann

A well trained obedience dog has no problem with dogs running in a
ring next to them. The dog should be totally focused on his/her
handler. I had a dog run into the ring while we were heeling during
the signal exercise in Utility and my girl never took her eyes off me.
Not a problem!!! Most of my trials are AB shows. (BTW, she is an ILP
dog....no parentage shown on papers)
