Old dogs - there's nothing quite like them. They are totally unique in every
way. I know this because I've been blessed with quiet a few of them. And
have enjoyed every second of them until their last breath. They have taught
me much. [sigh]
For having another breed, well there's NOTHING like the GSD. Nothing! But I've
met SO many other dogs I would take in a flash. I know at least five
different breeds right at this moment. I just met one a couple of days ago.
He was a six year old black lab/Golden mix named Charlie. His eyes said it
all. I was only with him for about an hour & I knew I would give this dog my
home if needed. But the owner whom I had just met said he adopted this dog
out of a shelter when he was a year old. And he said Charlie is the most
perfect thing on this earth. I do prefer a large dog myself. But I've met
some little guys too that have stolen my heart. So I guess I would never say
never about anything. Life in general is extremely interesting. And dogs are

I have also thought of this and I think I will take in a senior
citizen from our rescue organization. I think there is nothing more
noble than a senior GSD....love their regal look. And, these older
dogs, who have given so much and are now abandoned for one reason or
another, need to be cherished in their remaining years. So that is
what I will do.
If I also want a dog for show, either conformation or performance, I
will most likely get a male Corgi. Have had 3 Beagles in my life, but
won't go down that road again! LOL
