Oh, you can teach him heal, or walk if you want to save the heel command
for more formal obedience training. With a shepherd, you have to! We have
different commands for different things, and if my dogs didn't have basic
obedience, there is no way I would take them for walks. It doesn't affect
their show time at all. Actually, my guys have a different collar for
different activities, one for breed ring, one for herding, one for
swimming, one
for walking, and they KNOW what each collar is for. We hold off on the
herding one until we get there, otherwise they go nuts!!
You can do this, and lots of neosporin on those scrapes....they are your
battle scars! LOL

now, and turns a year old next week. I didnt want to teach him to heel, so

didn't work on. Today I took him for a walk, and when we progressed to a
jog, he pulled out so hard, I fell and wiped out really bad. I don't want

stop walking him, but goodness gracious he's gotten to strong for me to
handle on a basic walk. I've tried him on a choke, and he completely shut
down, when given a correction being seemingly terrified of the choke
itself.
I've even tried I think its called a fur saver.. and toggle. Thanks for
reading I'm covered in scrapes. This sucks.
