I'm thinking that the OVC probably saw the "something", and dismissed it,  as 
did the  board-certified vet  radiologist diplomate, as being a non problem.  
I think in real life, there  is indeed a "normal" range, which OFA will not 
acknowledge, as they do with  hips.  Syd
