NATIONAL UPDATES


The 2011 DPCA National is here!  The kickoff specialty starts today,  
followed by the Regional events Oct 1 & 2, and then a fun filled week  
of National events Oct 3-8.  Get all of the information on the  
National at http://dpca.org/Nat2011

We'll be sending out a weekly national update from now until the  
National arrives!

Health Presentations

Monday Oct. 3

Dr. Vulliet will join us in Fitchburg this year to give a presentation  
titled "STEM CELL THERAPY IN DOBERMAN PINSCHERS: PROMISES BEING  
DELIVERED". This talk will take place on Monday October 3 from 1:00 to  
1:45 pm before the General Meeting, in the same room as the General  
Meeting. This presentation will be streamed.  See below for details!

Dr. Vulliet will stay with us in order to do a Q & A session on  
Tuesday October 4, in conjunction with Dr. Nancy Morris' scheduled  
presentation that day 12:30- 1:30 pm.

Dr. Vulliet Presentation Will be Streamed


Dr. Richard Vulliet, D.V.M., a Professor in the Department of  
Veterinary Molecular Biosciences at the University of California,  
Davis, has been using stem cell therapy to treat Doberman Pinschers  
with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). In early results, his research team  
has found that allogenic bone marrow stromal cells (MSCs) appear to  
provide an effective treatment for DCM. Treated dogs demonstrated  
improvement in activity, attitude and/or cardiac parameters.


Dr. Vulliet will join us in Fitchburg this year to give a presentation

Patti Strand Presentation will be Streamed


Patti Strand will be the honored speaker immediately after the Annual  
Meeting on Monday October 3.

Patti Strand is the NAIA founder, a purebred dog enthusiast, author,  
commentator, and AKC Board Member. With her husband Rod, Patti is the  
author of "The Hijacking of the Humane Movement".

We don't know exactly what time Patti will speak as it will be after

NEW FEATURES

NEW for 2011: We will be filming the 2011 show in Hi-Definition.  
Anyone who wishes to purchase Blu-Ray Discs will be able to see their  
Dobes in super Hi Definition. The video is absolutely gorgeous! Check  
out the Rhodesian Ridgeback sample on our Doberman page.

NEW for 2011: We will NOT be streaming live video. We cannot do that  
at the site due to the Internet connection. We WILL stream video AFTER  
JUDGING each day. We have posted a schedule on our Doberman page, and  
folks may access those links when they are available.

NEW for 2011: Single Clip (Individual dogs) and Single Disc products  
are now offered. Check out our website for more info.

For all of you roving photographers attending the National, here is  
your chance to easily share the photos you take at the National with  
those who can't attend!!!  Show everyone the fun you and fellow Dobe  
lovers are having in Fitchburg and do it by sending your pics to an
