Dear Sue, what a nice post, and yes I remember everyone of those words,
including "picture show", and running eight blocks with 25 cents, to see the
picture show at the Valencia theatre, getting there on time to see the cartoons
before the show. Now we see trailers and advertisements before the show.
"supper" with grandpa & grandma, on Sunday afternoons. And Blue Sundays, when
all the stores were closed, and reading the comics, and watching the Ed
Sullivan show were the highlights of the day, still don't like to shop on
Sunday,
and still read the paper. Sunday is still my day off. The things we carry
over from childhood. Those were the days!
