[ SHOWGSD-L ] OT, sort of....Flooring

I just bought another house. I tried to explain to my general contracto=
r about tearing out the wall-to-wall and giving me a cement/concrete flo=
or throughout the house. I know that was discussed on the list a while =
back. Could some of you, who have gone that way, please e-mail me priva=
tely with some specifics? My GC says we need to see the condition of th=
e slab before we can decide upon concrete/cement, wood/laminate, or slat=
e/tile. I just know that I do NOT want carpeting, and he doesn't seem t=
oo familiar with concrete/cement. Any websites with info?? I am a gree=
n, back-to-basics kind of old lady, and rather frugal, too.
