Well, actually, it is somewhat true. I don't know about the thing with
it causing strokes (and in women only... not men... what are the
odds?). But all cold medicines, diet pills and other stuff containing
phenylpropanolamine (PPA) were voluntarily removed from the market
shelves several years ago.
It can still be had at compounding pharmacies or veterinarians. The
stuff has been a godsend for my dog. And she ain't dead yet! ;)
