We've all been through this I think.
According to our Vets that do the X-rays on our dogs they "SHOULD" go
Excellent, but
OFA seldom gives it. We've all had our share of Excellen'ts also....and we
are often
surprised as it looks like a "Good" to us.
I'm told OFA reads the X-rays according to the Breed. What will OFA good on
an
Elkhound ( my Elkhound exhibiting friend tells me <G> ) will not pass on a
GSD.
Our Vets think as our Breed improves on hips and elbows.... OFA has become
harsher
on rating them.
Not necessarily a bad thing I guess as we have sure cleaned up our act in this
Breed
on both over the years.

they could share with me? I have a male that prelimed absolutely beautiful
and 3 vets concurred, and then i just did his 2yr and normally do "a" stamp
but since i wanted the "excellent" behind him, i sent it to OFA... i was
floored he didn't go excellent, and i called too :) someone suggested i

them back out in 6 months.... the littermates 4 in this litter are all very
nice hips, but did them younger so cant send to OFA, might be sending them
as
prelims.. to compare and see what they think...
i would like to compare someones OFA Excellent to my male if you dont mind
emailing me :)
