Wow, and WOW: Evan and I never agree on anything political, but in dogs we
are on the same page. I have no problem with people sending their dogs with
handlers, trainers. However, when I can't see my dog win or lose and
interact with the other people at the shows, new and old, I will give it
up. This game is still fun to me. I hope it stays that way until Nadine
adds my cedar box in the special closet with all our past special ones. And
oh there are so many of them.

a phone call. I love the social side of the dog shows.
I remember Hal Kantor. He would see a dog in the Review and buy it. Then he
didn't want to see the dog until it was finished. I never got that, but we
did discuss it. It was another way to enjoy the sport.
I don't mean to denigrate those who send their dogs off to be trained, to
be shown, and then to come home when they are finished. I just get so much
more from dog shows, than winning.
To me it is a social function, and a chance to learn from others.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
