[ SHOWGSD-L ] Not my best day so far

I have spent the first three hours of this day working for the GSDCA at no
charge. Not the best way to spend my life.
After extreme and constant attempts to avoid it, today I received a law suit
against the club and certain board members. It is the only resolution
possible to a terrible situation, and while I did all I could to avoid it, as
the
Agent for Service of Process for the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, I
received it. Since it now has been filed and served it is public record. I
will send it to those who are interested, but it is a low day for me, as I
wished with all I had that it could be avoided. Named in the litigation are
Gary,
Lew, Kris and Bill. If you still had questions as to what has been going on
in our club, this will spell it out.
Last night, in the on-going situation, the board, without notice of the
agenda, was asked to suspend the Annual Meeting and void the election. While a
bit on the ridiculous side, some of our board believes it was a proper subject
for discussion, and it was suggested that the timing of the notice for the
annual meeting was not proper, so that a new Annual Meeting should be noticed
and held. I guess we could all attend at our own expenses, not to mention the
cost to our club. On the good side, it would free up an evening at the
national. All awards, etc. would be given at the new time. I hear it was not
decided, but someone who was there will make a more definitive post.
Had I not received the information about the Special Board Meeting, I would
have been even more disappointed in the litigation. But, there seems to be no
other way to stop the direction of our club. Not only are expenses being
incurred for things of little basis, the ongoing intent of those who can't seem
to understand the real purpose of our club needs a remedy. I hate that the
court is the only way to resolve these problems, but I prefer it to baseball
bats.
I understand some of the board will post today about the Special Meeting,
and I will leave it up to them to give out the details. But, it might help for
you, the club members, (yes, I know not everyone on this List is a club
member), to check in with your suggestions. If you are not a member of the
GSDCA,
join. Also, even if you are not a member, and have a suggestion for the love
of our breed, let the board members know.
I am doing this to let you know what is going on, and to help our board find
its' way back to the purpose of our club, and that is to protect our breed
and serve our members. The extra expenses incurred this year, and the cost to
our club are the subject of the law suit, and the plaintiff is Margy, so she
can address any questions you might have.
I, as made clear, will not be involved in litigation against this club or
our board. I will do what I can to support our club, our board, and the board
members. From what I can see, they will have to respond with their own
positions. Perhaps a chance to respond to these charges will turn out to be a
good thing.
I just am very disappointed that it had to come to this.
