I have been show chairman for my club for 25 years and as of now I have
never been notified that the rules have changed it is always necessary to have
the entry fee with the entry unless as I stated in another email if it is a bad
credit card or an NSF check then they will collect it at the show but if an
entry arrives at the superintendent without a check or credit card information
to charge that entry the entry will be returned and not accepted

SHOWGSD-L ] Re: Non-payment of entriesWell, whenever you buy anything, you
don't go home with it unless its paid for or a written agreement for payment
was signed. Technically, payment should be received with the entry.

I don't know if it is against rules to accept the entry (in the instance of
say Jack Bradshaw Superintendent) if you have anopps with the credit card, or
forget to include a check or some kind of thing that screws up the entry, as
long as it is paid before you exhibit, before the show, they will accept. (I
don't know if that is okay with Specialties)But to allow the handler to
actually exhibit without payment, ahhh there perhaps lies the rub. i don't
know, for sure?

Dawn,
Unfortunately for your club but you will probably not be able to do much since
it is against AKC rules to accept an entry without the payment. I am sure the
handler knows this so with that in mind knows that the AKC would not back you
up. In fact. if it were to be filed with AKC they may even fine the club for
accepting entries without the entry fee.
Sorry this happen to you and it may be a hard lesson to learn.
