I find it curious that professional handlers are
allowed to be on the Nominating Committee? I by no means am implying that
they are
not without integrity, but it seems to me since Professional handlers in
many
cases make their living from this, it would be wise as an obvious and very
direct conflict of interest to exclude them from being on the Nominating
Committee. Can anyone clarify this????

We may be trying to get to PC here. The complaint was who was on the
nominating committee. Get a grip folks.

The nominating committee sets a base slate, then we all can petition on who
we want. I wonder how many of the people suggested by the nominating
committee actually win? I don't know. I do know at one time when I was on the
board
we thought about the purpose of the nominating committee. It was decided that
we needed it, so that if no one petitioned on, at least the membership would
have a slate.

Handlers, judges, board members, teachers, lawyers, doctors, exhibitors,
hookers and basketball players. They will be as honest as they are, and will
be
as dishonest as they are. Perception will not change that.

Here we are complaining that a group of people agreed to meet and nominate a
slate. It might be time to stop bitching and start working. I was on a
nominating committee one time, and had to leave a dog show to take a phone call

and let everyone know who I had contacted and who was willing to serve.

If you don't like the way things are being done, run for the board, put
yourself on a committee, and work as hard as those who are now doing it, do.
I
plan to pass five petitions for people who I believe would help this club. If
you don't like what the nominating committee did, get those petitions out
there. It is easy to complain about those who are working for us, but it
probably is a better time to thank them for the hard work they are doing.

On the other hand, if you just want to bitch, go for it. I sure do enjoy
reading those posts.
