I understand that coccidia are always present, but not a problem unless
they multiply to fantastic numbers. One vet I had years ago said that
if you feed birds and the dogs get to run in the area, or even if birds
tend to hang out around your dog yard or runs, there's no way to escape
coccidia...and so long as you keep on top of it and treat the puppies,
it's no biggie.
Of course, when you sell a puppy and the new owner's vet gets into a
state because he or she finds coccidia, it's hard to explain to the new
owner...best to explain at the time of sale............and hope none
ever show up!
