1997 in Perry Georgia was my most memorable!
First off there is no other site like Perry.......it is just awesome for
exhibitors, dogs and all venues.
Second, I was 4 months pregnant with my first child and doubling like crazy
my specials bitch..........i had no expectations and only hoped she would
show well and get a good look. Maybe make the cut and oh if we could just
get a Select it would really rock !!

Well highly exceeding my expectations, she showed well, made the cut went
right up to the front and Dave Rinke worked and worked them !! All the
while this was the most intense experience i had ever been involved in. It
seemed like hours passed before he pointed and holy smokes a Grand Victrix I
had on my hands (GVX CH Kate Vom Cypress).......................everyone
went running down to the ring and i was just praying i wouldn't miscarry. I
sat down and had to just calm myself. She eventually went on to Best of
Breed but i think at that point i wasn't even doubling any
longer............
Noone knows, but a couple people mainly Bruce Gilbert and his wife can
recall......i was green this whole week with morning, night sickness
practically all day sickness and couldn't even keep food on my stomach. But
nothing was keeping me from showing this bitch.
Sandy Dancosse handled her (and co-bred her) and god bless her, she had just
recently had a new hip replacement she was healing up
from..................she showed the bitch to perfection.........she was
going on adrenilin because her legs were barely carrying her but she kept
on!
I made the big guy Tom C. speak at the National dinner because i couldn't
deal with a bit more stress that day and i have never been a good public
speaker......besides he deserved to get up there as the awesome breeder he
was and be in his glory.

Thanks for provoking these awesome memories from all of us and i hope you
have some of the most intense memories to hold on to from your first
National. Amy
