Wow, that was also my first national. My male Tucker Hill's Pacesetter took a
hugh Bred By class, with Cappy handling. You're telling me time has flown,
that was 38 years ago!!

My first National (US) was in 1968 in Montvale N.J. It was an outdoor show.
Great memories. Marie. J. Leary judged the open class males sitted on a
chair in the middle of the ring. Intersex class was judged at night( late).
They used car's spotlight to make some light (there was no white wall....).
GV. Ch. Yoncalla's Mike went B.O.S. and GVX Ch. Valtara's Image went B.O.B.
from classes. Judges were M.J. Leary (males, Gustave Schindler (bitches),
Mary Southcott from Toronto,Canada judging novice classes only ( males and
females)and Ernie Loeb doing Intersex.
I was 13 year old and had wonderful time.....Now I realize the time fly....

Our first National was in 1989 in Philadelphia, PA. The dog that went GV
was Bethesda's Tacoma of SiDon, if I remember correctly. We had no idea
what was going on, but have been hooked ever since. We were there with our
mentors, Joanne Horton and Peggy Lee. I think our favorite National so far
was the 2002 in Missouri when our seven month old Rina got her herding
instinct certificate. But, we also have a fondness the last time it was in
Perry, Georgia when quite a few of our club members were in attendance.
Incidentally, our club (Southern NJ) sponsors the Veteran's Obedience
Rosettes and there are fifteen vets entered this year.
