I used Panacur for years.??But, after a?couple years with no positive results
in the fecals, I switched to DE this year.? I will know when the
next?fecals?are due if this has worked.? I have not used commercial wormers
since Feburary 2007 (can that be last year already?)? Mina?and Mel are due for
fecals in Feb.? That will be one full year with a summer of flies and
mosquitoes and the like.? If the results are good, I will not?go back to
commercial wormers.? DE is cheap, even with many dogs and I would sure?rather
my guys have something natural and beneficial rather than?chemicals.??
That said, please note that DE is also a pool?additive.? DO NOT use pool DE for
animals.? It will kill them.? Be careful where you buy it and make sure it is
animal grade.

So, anyway, I haven't seen a worm while using Interceptor, and my only
concern was tapes when my dogs got into the bunny nest <G>. Now that's my
experience and others may have had different experiences.
As far as Ivermectin that's formulated for horses/cattle, I know folks use
it, but that scares me. The dosage that's considered safe for dogs is
relatively small, I stink at the metric system <G>, so although it's still
used
in
other heart worm meds, if I were to switch I'd rather leave it to the pros to
formulate what I give the dogs w/ chewable, liver flavored tablets.
Again, Interceptor "controls" adult roundworm infestation. That's not
enough for a mom and her puppies; I still do Nemex II every 10 days.
