[ SHOWGSD-L ] New Toy

I got this question from a number of people, so I am sending the reply to
the List.
For anyone who is interested there is a modem you can buy that plugs into
your laptop and works like a cell phone to go on line from the car, a park,
or
just at home. It costs nothing to buy, (it was $200 with a $195 rebate),
and
it costs $29.00 a month for the service.
Where do you get this modem and what is it called (for those of us who are
computer dummies)?
You will love it. I got it through the AT&T store, which is now Cingular.
It is the Sony Ericsson, and the one I have is Edge PC Card CG 82. It is
very easy to use, and I use it every day when I am sitting in my easy chair to
do the List. The modem is free, but there is a monthly service charge just
like a cell phone.
They started out charging for the mega-bytes you download. Since I had and
have no idea what a mega-byte is, or how many I use, I got what was then the
unlimited use. But, then I got the cheapest service, and it is now unlimited
use. I started out paying $86.00 a month, but realized there were times I
never used it. So, I went to $29.00 a month, and it worked just as well and I
never get extra charges. I used it to post from the national show, but last
year the building was set up for wireless service as well.
Even I was able to figure it out in less than ten minutes. You do need to
remember to turn it on before you go on line. I have to relearn that every time
I use it.
