Years back there was a judge who absolutely would not put up a dog, no matter how nice, if it had a missing 1st premolar. I think dentition is very important, but sometimes the quality of the dog can overshadow a minor flaw like this. However, I am glad our standard spells out how many teeth are correct. In a couple of other breeds, that have no tooth standard, bites and dentition have become a really BIG problem.
