I may have some bad information, but I was told a vote was taken to ignore
that restriction for Susan, and the board was asked to vote, and decided
not
to change the limitations. It is my understanding that a committee was
then
assigned the job of determining if we should eliminate the rule about our
editor being involved in active showing or handling.

I didn't see anything about it in the minutes, (board-o-gram) I read, so
maybe my information is not correct. That is what I was told by two board
members.

I am sure Susan will do a great job, and that Lew and our board will solve
the problem.

Well..........

I pray the politics do not get involved and Susan is allowed the opportunity
to do a good job. And I trust the Board can deal with this problem (if one
exist) and solve it with the membership's best interest in mind.

To that end........There should be no preferential treatment.

It is imperative that the Review Editor follows the guidelines set forth on
the Policies and Procedures manual, which indicates on the very first page
dealing with the Review, that the Editor may not judge, steward, exhibit or
handle while in that position. This, I am sure, is to avoid any conflicts of
interest.

As I explained it to someone else earlier, imagine for a moment that the
Editors winning dog's ad is perfect, while the rest have mistakes (this is only

one example). The conflict of interest, and the appearance of wrong doing
are unnecessary evils to deal with.

There are always options. I am sure other people considered applying for
the job of Review Editor, and the limits regarding showing dogs made up their
minds. It is a free country after all.

But........we must abide by the rules already set. We CAN NOT change rules
at anytime just to accommodate a few. It sets a terrible precedent.

Otherwise, what's the point of having Policies and Procedures, By-Laws and
Constitutions.

JMO, as usual.

Respectfully,

Ileana
