My Bull iss terrified of storms too...I use DAP collar defussers and Calm Forte
Clam Forte can be found at walgreens I somesomes have to use Ace I do not like
too but for stoms at night I do or we would not get any sleep.
Clam Forte is all natural...I like the nerve tonic formula...it takes effect
pretty fast...I give Bull 2 pills as soon as he shows storm stress I may not
hear the thunder but he dose so he will go to the bath tup or try to crawl into
a small space but! dose not like to be in his crate during storm...I also try
to ignore him when possible. It is hard. I tell him to go laydown. DAP is
pricey but hey it really helps Bull it take a few weeks for the collars to take
effect but the defusers work pretty quick..our is in the bathroom and our
bedroom

Hi,
I have an 8 year old GSD, that in the last year, has become terrified of
thunder and lightening. He can't be left loose in the house during a storm as
he tries to climb the walls. We tried a wire crate, which tonight, he tried to
gnaw through.
If we fail to watch the weather close enough this guy will let us know about an
hour before that it's coming. The problem is we are not always home in time. If
he can be with us during the storm he still does rather well. A lot of panting
and anxiety, but he doesn't destroy the house or do things that could hurt him.
If we aren't home he does a lot of damage!!!!!
For those of you that may have a dog with this problem do you have any tips or
suggestions on how to calm his fears? Anything ideas from medications to
desensitizing him to the storms would be greatly appreciated. We are in GA and
have had a lot of bad weather the last few months and he is getting much worse.
