The bitch judge asked to use the entire ring. The dog judge agreed to this. It
was a long trip around for young dogs. The first day was long and we asked
questions as to the problem. I thought we got it fixed quite well for Thursday
and Friday. Folks wanted to get out earlier to socialize with friends, spend
time with their dogs, etc. One Board member wanted a long bath, tv and sleep.
LOL Our fancy does have an aging membership. One dad and exhibitor suggested a
room for juniors with games, a tv and bean bag chairs. We could discuss this.
Children were quite bored and they are our future.
It seems from comments that members do not want to shorten the National..just
move along, keep dogs in the ring and have time at the end of the day to spend
as they wish.
The folks present, though fewer, bought over $4000 in 50/50 tickets. Thanks to
Iza, Sandy Lindsay and Kevin. Gayle Richmond won over $2000.
Bart and his products committee had fleece jackets and members bought 85 there
or by special order. They are very sharp and classy.
Our vendors did not do as well as in previous years. Folks there spent money,
but again there were fewer participants. We need to take a look at the vendor
fees and perhaps make some adjustment. We enjoy having them there and we like
to shop!
Nanci, Lea and Erin worked hard and long each day. Words can't express our
thanks to them. Good job National Committee!
