When the national started to be the vacation for the year I decided there were
other things I would rather do. This year it will be Hilton Head In April. The
national isn't so special that it rates top billing for vacation dollars. It
really is as simple as that.

The real message for me is, go to the national, but leave the dogs at home.
I am afraid that is the future of our club. I am not sure how that
translate. This year we may see more of the East Coast at the national. I
don't
think as many from the West will travel with dogs.
I remember one year when Gloria and Cappy had eight dogs with them. The
dogs were lined up at the curb, (in crates), waiting for the rental to come
get them. I wonder if anyone will ever do that again. Certainly I would
not.
