Had a call today asking which airport Bush was. So to clarify, here is some
further airport information.
The closest and easiest airport to get to Beaumont from is Intercontinental
Airport in Houston, which is Bush. If you are booking online the airport
code is IAH
IAH is on the northeast corner of Houston, actually Humble, and is the
straightest shot to get to Beaumont. It is 83 miles coming across the north
end.
Hobby is also a major airport, but is at the extreme southwest corner of
Houston and will add another 45 minutes to an hour of negotiating traffic
since
you have to drive all the way across Houston to get to Interstate 10 east to
Beaumont.
If you are not coming with dogs and flying Continental, you get a discount
taking the air shuttle direct to Beaumont. Both headquarter hotels and a few
others offer hotel shuttle service from the Beaumont airport to the hotels.
Although other airlines use the Continental shuttles for connections also.
