Each year, I offer my solution for the doubling problem at out National Specialty. This year will be no exception. At the end or the Specials arena, a large cage should be built, and all those that wish to double handle should be ushered inside. There they are free to make any sound they think will work to alert their dog. This method has many advantages. No longer would women and innocent children be trampled underfoot. The dogs, having been able to find their owner easily, would all double like a house afire, and offer a ringwide picture of perfection for the judge. I have never been able to understand why this system has never been adopted.
