Actually, in NY, "teachers" have NOTHING to do with it. There is
something called an attendance policy. At our school for a full year
course, a student will be denied credit if he/she misses more than 28
days. This is NOT my policy as an English teacher. Last year, one of
my students fell under this policy and did not receive credit for
English 11. (I don't agree with this policy. I feel that any student
who completes the work should be given credit, no matter what his/her
attendance is!) JMHO

Right you are Penny....I have gotten many private email today saying that's
the case in most areas. 21-28 days off and you get no credit. That was also
the case when my youngest one was in school. We still managed a week off for
the National. Maybe is easier in some states than other.
