Well, I have survived the earthquake. I was talking GSDCA stuff with Pam
toesser when it hit and I told her not to hang up. I ran (well, walked
ast since I don't run anymore) and got Dillon out of his crate and we went
utside. I wasn't sure what was going on. The whole house was just
haking. Pam stayed on with me while I calmed down and got the courage to go
ack
nside and turn on the TV. That's when I found out it was an earthquake.
ow I find out that it was centered in Mineral, VA which is where our Lake
nna house is and Bob had just left about 10 or 15 minutes earlier to go
ow the grass down there. None of the phone lines are working now so I hope
e is OK and the house there is still standing.
hew, that was enough excitement for one day!! Second time in my life
first was the dishwasher fire) I realized that one doesn't grab the GSDCA
tuff first when going out the door. This time I didn't even grab my purse -
ust the dog and the telephone. LOL

Oh, yeah, they do. The largest quakes ever recorded in the contiguous (or
s it nka: conterminous?) USA was the New Madrid quakes and aftershocks in
1811-1812. Actually changed the course of the Mississippi River! Big
