At our Futurity weekend in Sacramento........Rita Sandell and Vicki Roye were
generous with their time
in sitting down with everyone there that wanted to in a 'round circle'
discussion on Education if we
wanted...the 'state of the Breed'....issues we all deal with with the general
public and their 'perception' of
our Breed and how we all work to do some education on our own.
We very much appreciate Judges and breeders that give us their time and
input...it is ALL educational
when we share with each other as Judges, breeders and exhibitors and
competitors. We all are a lot
more alike that most of us even know............

Good point Suzanne. I agree that having an educational meeting during lunch
break or in the evening is a good idea.
The reality is a full day on Wednesday will likely reap poor attendance.

should be on Tuesday. It could be something brief (not more than an hour or
two) on Wednesday evening. Having the educational seminars at futurity
weekends and even specialty weekends is awesome - - and I think will boost
attendance at those events, where taking a day in the middle of the national
will obviously cause a drastic drop in attendance (I.e. - - nobody will show up
on Tuesday OR Wednesday....and the futurity/maturity system and pre show will
die). Not a good idea!
