This is true. However, you can make a difference by staying in touch with
the teachers, and if the kids have good grades and are all around good
students,
teachers tend to allow this request for a week off.
My kids always attended the National. They brought their school work with
them, and many of the teachers attending the national offered their assistance
with homework, if needed. And their teachers knew that the work would be
completed, without exception.
Funny part, as the youngest one got to the same teachers her older siblings
had, it was easy to ask for time off for her.......the teachers were
"trained"....LOL
