Name Question Okay, my newbie-ness is coming through again and I have a question. I'm considering adding another dog to my program and was going through names. This is just an observation I have made, but it seems that very famous GSDs never have their names (including call names) repeated once they make it big. Is it an unwritten code that you don't use a previously famous dog's name for your new show dog, or am I over analyzing things (again, lol) and this is just coincidence? I would be interested in knowing though as one of my final considerations is Hawk, and I know I've seen that name out there. Tina Paul opines... Our 1st show dog came from a "P" litter. I came across the name of Paladin. I drooled for that name but our mentors...Russ & Beryl Eshom told us about Ekolan's Paladin and how great he had been for the breed. Out of respect...we didn't use the name. However...CH Arlee's "Pardon" My Dust went on to be a Multiple Group and BISS dog that made us very proud. In Hawk...you may think it would be too close to what...Dopplett-Tay's Hawkeye? I personally don't think so. Nor too close to Proven Hill's A Sunhawk either. JMO...
