Years ago, with Champion Howard's Retrace we were told to do that. I did,
and one swipe in the ring, and it was gone. I kept on doing it, but never
understood why. I think the handler wanted me to do something to keep me busy.
I have never done it since, and as I think about it, I don't think I have
seen any of our dogs with light nails.
