One major factor is the German x-rays are done at 12 months, as opposed to
OFA's 24 months,
One of the best producers of hips, Marko Cellerland, was NZ at 12 months. We
bought a little bitch who was NZ at 12 months. She went good and was our best
"OFA Excellent" producing bitch.
I think the best you can do as a breeder is breed a dog free of dysplasia
from family lines with high % of good hip production, and pray.
All of our OFA excellent offspring have come from 3 sire lines that were
known for producing high number of OFA excellent.
