In anticipation of increased pressure from animal extremists for passage
of various proposals before the legislature that further restrict or
outlaw the activities of lawful, humane pet owners and breeders in New
York State, the Dog Federation of New York launches its "No Empty
Collars" campaign!

In order to heighten awareness in Albany of our deep concerns, DFNY asks
New York dog (and cat) owners and breeders to mail (or hand deliver) to
each of several key legislators:

-- A basic statement of opposition to three "pet dealer" proposals  
which 
would violate civil rights, uselessly burden taxpayers and deprive
struggling New York communities of needed revenues. The statement and
mailing addresses can be downloaded from DFNY's website:

-- An empty pet collar (available at many "dollar stores")

-- If desired, please include additional material or information, a 
personal letter or statement from your own club or group.
