Christine,
My understanding from what Nancy Harper reported on at the MW Futurity =
is
that you can enter in 2 regions, but you can only choose to show in one
region. This is to accommodate puppies with pano, bitches in season, =
etc.
This is actually a recommendation that the FREE committee made nearly 18
years ago.

I wanted to confirm what I had heard this weekend before I decide =
whether
to nominate 3 litters for the 2008 futurity. It is my understanding that
next year(?) we will be able to show the same dog in multiple =
futurities.It
is my understanding that is not just entering multiple futurities and =
still
only showing in one. If this is not the case, no need for further
explanation, if so, I am going to put my questions/concerns right up =
front
in hopes that someone on the Board, or the Fut. chair will please =
explain
the following 1) Why? 2)The reserve system was implemented to increase =
the
numbers at the finals, if one dog can be shown over and over again, and
could potentially win multiple futurities, wouldn't this be counter
productive to having more dogs in the finals 3) Doesn't this somewhat =
cater
to big money, those who have the resources can go to or send a dog or =
two
to all regions and doesn't this undermine the intent of the futurity, =
yet
again? 4) If this is in fact a new rule, will it be effective in 2008 or
will the two year rule apply. 5) With all that is going on within the =
club,
how did this get pushed through so quickly( and quietly) while others
struggle just to be heard? 6) How will points be tabulated with a single
winner of multiple futurities. 7) whose idea was this anyhow? Because in =
my
opinion this sounds like an idea that was contrived by someone with big
bucks...on other words, whatever it takes to win.
On a final note, yet again a prominent breeder won at the Amateur fut in
the MW..moral of the story, good dogs win with novices handling. So if =
you
plan to have knowledgeable people judge the Amateur fut. and people who
breed good dogs exhibit in it, what do you expect the outcome to be? =

of the story: Novices..breed better dogs and you will win, if your dogs
aren't worthy they won't win at the Amateur or Pro handler level. =
