I have a friend that just stopped over at my house to ask a question about her shepherd type dog Harry. My friend said that her dogs' tail is just hanging now since last night & kind of lifeless. Not natural for this dog. She walked him around for me and I saw some change in the tail since I know the dog very well. I came up with a few suggestions but really couldn't tell her why. So I told her to go home and ask on line. She found the website where she could ask a vet for $13 and the reply was tail head Myositis, an inflammation of the muscles at the top of the tail which makes the whole tail go limp, cause by overuse of the tail. Usually happens after swimming, or playing and socializing more than usual. And to us anti-inflammatory, the only over-the -counter one for dogs is buffered, enteric coated aspirin, such as Ascriptin. Has anyone ever experienced this in a dog? I've never heard of this before. Kathy Partch www.JoKaySedona.com <http://www.jokaysedona.com/> ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2012.
