Jim and I traveled to a dog show in the San Francisco area, and agreed to foster a 4 month old pup, taking her back to the L.A. area. Moxie was just starting her show career, a youngster of 18 months at that time. We stopped to potty Moxie about 1/2 way home, and I was getting the lead for the pup, when the pup decided to leap out of the back of the station wagon and take off to the hinterlands. , The freeway, while not next door, was still within view. The pup was heading that way. I was frantic, and without conscious thought, I cried, Moxie, go get her! That darn young Moxie, who usuallynever left our side, took off like a shot, ran the pup down, turned her and brought her back! These are remarkable dogs.
