Please take a moment and help out. The alderman need to be flooded with
polite letters educating them to the fact that mandatory spay and neutering
will
not reduce gang bangers or dog bites. Karen Delise has just put out a report
regarding euthanasia rates in Chicago at the shelters. see below. WE need
help
in Chicago, a few of the quite influential alderman believe that all animals
should be mandatorally spayed and neutered, all breeders should background
checked before getting the permit (done each year btw).

In Chicago dog bites are way down from what they used to be: here is some
great data) for Chicago:
This can be used to demonstrate that even the largest city in Illinois does
not really have a dog bite "problem"
and like the rest of the nation dog bites have dramatically decreased over
the past 30 years:
In 1978 Chicago reported 11,932 cases of dog bites (reference
Pediatrics, 1982)
In 2007 Chicago reported 2,149 cases of dog bites (reference Chicago
Animal Care & Control)
Not only are ALL reported dogs bites dramatically reduced but severe bites
are also occurring with less frequency as demonstrated by Comer Children's
Hospital (formerly Wyler Children's Hospital).
In 1979, 199 children were treated at Chicago Wyler Children's Hospital, of
which 11 were admitted
In 2007, 17 children were treated at Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, of
which 2 were admitted.
Less, people bitten by dogs, and less severe bites.
